NEW K&N FIPK Kit # 572550

I just ordered one of the new K&N FIPK's for my 04 Heritage Scab. I have installed the kits on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and a 2001 Ford Excursion v10. I really like the attention to detail and thoughtful touches K&N adds to their kits. I was worried that the 4.2 would not recieve an FIPK kit from K&N but, it only took 8 years!!!

The K&N website lists the horsepower gains 7.5@4891 but more important to me is the graph showing a nice increase low in the rev band. After installation I will take a photo and give a review.

That's cool...would have went with the MAC system myself, but I hear good things on K&N.

Actually, I did have the MAC intake and it was real nice.

I like your truck. If you find your instrument panel missing start looking for me. Do you like the MAC intake? I almost bought one but, I have always had K&N FIPK and or AEM cold air kits. I should have saved 100 bucks and gone with the MAC. I like the heat shields that come with the K&N.

the MAC was actually dyno'd at 12.6 hp gain

i like mine, but the rubber couplers are garbage. go to home depot and get some plumbing couplers for $5, they are like 1/8th thick hard rubber...and little grooves for the hose clamps

i have seen the k&n kits and they are very nice, high quality....that's not to say the MAC isn't good...or better even

Yea, both are good and probably equally efficient honestly.

Heh, well I've actually bought a different truck lately, so the 'ol 4.2 is gone. I miss her like crazy though.

I have a 4.6 V8 SCAB now...it's slower than crap compared to the 4.2.

My old list of parts was:
MAC Intake
40 series Flowmaster dumped
H/S throttle body (little to 0 use honestly )
4.10 racing gears
Ford T-Lock rear diff. setup
Diablo Sport (2 Stage I think) Chip for 93 octane

It ran high 15's.

Nope...not any time soon either...

I'm not gonna go very crazy with this one...at the most Dual Exhaust and Intake...maybe a tuner.
