Alldata Question

I have a chance to get a 2002 Alldata cd/dvd set. It is a good price but I was wondering if I bought it if I would have to be subscribed to the alldata thing or if I just use the dvd's/cd's? I want to get the set but i dont want to if I have to subscribe to something to use them. Anyone here know anything about this?

most of them are all code locked and belong to a set and will only work on the one computer that has the code un lock installed at least this is how the professional ones are and the are pretty useless.

My friend in Red Deer with an auto shop has Alldata ,as a matter of fact I just installed his update discs a few weeks ago.

It is costly for the quarterly updates.

Is it the pro series or vehicle owner set?

if it is the vehicle owner set,
It says right on the web site you have to subscribe yearly.

Im guessing it is the pro version. He claims there are ~50 discs included...

So can no one tell or does it not matter? lol

If it's the pro version, then it's going to have to be re-registered with alldata. THat can be pretty pricy. If it's the home version it's a yearly service.

I can tell because the personal verision is only one or two cds. Also I have personal experience with the pro version from my dad's shop. At most they are going to ask the guy where he got, and make sure it's legit.

They are going to ask where I got it or what do you mean? So you think there may be a way I can use this? The guy got it from a friend that used to be a mechanic or something..I dunno for sure..hmm
