Another towing question, but for the HD F150 this time. My 2000 HD F150 Super Cab only has a towing capacity of 4k. Why is this and how can I change it? I have lowered the truck with a Groundforce 2"/4" kit and added bags to the back. I know with the bags I can haul more weight comfortably in the bed, but does this really help my towing capacity? My plan was to go with a class III hitch, large tranny cooler and electric brake setup. Is this reasonable for a once in awhile application or am I just spinning my wheels?
Any help would be apreciated as I would like to be able to tow up to 6k with this truck once in a while.
