What a RIP OFF !!!

3.3% on a New York House is $16,500.00 on a $500,000.00/Half Million Dollar Home.

California is only 1.1%

Why the big difference ?

That's why I like my Virginia house..3 bedroom, brick ranch, with full, walk out basement, 8' x 44' deck across the back. Total tax $278 per year.

I understand that Massachusetts (Massive Taxes) is still using a tax structure that was put in place around 1810? Am I wrong? Annual taxes on your home and its contents (based on a percentage of the value of the home) as well as your truck(s) and other personal property is based on a percentage of the market value.
Then again, they still use Selectmen...
