Just had the door on the gas filler stop working right... It will
not spring open or shut.... had the truck 2 months!

Oh and from what I can tell the door is plastic... man thats going to look
attractive in 4 years of wear and tear!!!!

 

True, but with the static spark accidents getting press, you can expect nothing but plastic doors stock from now on out.

There are some great looking ones for sale as replacments. Might want to do a search for something better.

samething happened to my truck 04 screw . has something to do with the clip that holds the spring they should have the part in stock . kinda common problem i think my brother-in-law had the same problem

 

I dont understand how it comes loose. I did nothing to stress the door out...
just opened it and it was broke....

 

Same thing happened to me. Opened it up, filled tank went to close would not shut. Guessing it’s the broken spring problem. I think I’ll look into a after market door. Anyone with a billit door recommend a brand?

 

Me too. I had it replaced under warranty.

 

I didn't have any problems with mine but got some nice bling in the form of a billet door for Christmas last year. Check Moss Motors for lots of F-150 goodies.
