doublin up on add-a-leafs

I have a 76 highboy with worn out springs in the rear. I will eventually be buying the skyjacker springs for the front and rear but I need something to get me by for a few years. Could I use two add a leafs per side and take a few inches off of the bottom one. I am going to take out one of the old leafs(second biggest) and add two new add a leafs in but wanted to know if there was any negatives of doing this. I had the second leaf break on the front and I replaced it with an add a leaf and it works fine.

P.S. I am glad to be back on the forum. My truck and I have been separated since thanksgiving and now I am rearin to go

instead of wasting money on add aleafs just save that money and get the skyjackers or another set of stock springs, either new or from the bone yard
