Unhappy Help! 92 F250 2wd exhaust manifold leak??

My 92 F250(351w/auto) has an exhaust leak on the pass side. truck has AC. Space for repair looks very tight. My fairly mechanical brother says we can do it. I have had a range of quotes from shops from $250-$500.
What trouble should I anticipate, is this a common problem?? My fear is the manifold bolts will break! Thanks guys/gals....

This is a fairly common problem. We have a truck at work (91 F350 with a 5.8L) that has a driver's side manifold leak. It is actually cracked. If you soak the bolts with PB Blaster or something similar everyday for a week or so it will help.

Good luck!

Theres a post on here thats about 3 pages long and has everything you can think of about this problem. Flip back a few pages through here and you will find it. Chances are you have a cracked manifold. That was very common with these trucks. Mine does it. Not bad enough to annoy me YET. My buddy had a 97 HD with the 5.8 and it ticked and ticked until it drove you nuts. He finally got rid of that thing. But yea just soak the bolts on some blaster and you shouldnt have a problem gettin em off. Best of luck.

Thanks Handy.. & Beast... I will search for the post. I love my truck in most aspects but the leak is wearing on me. Plus the power is greatly impacted, maybe the gas milage will improve?? I did price out a new manifold wich wasnt to bad cost wise. I will look for this PB blaster stuff as I am not familiar with it. Thanks
