Has anyone had any trouble with ZF 5 speeds?

I'm thinking about a ZF 5 speed for my 86 Bronco with a mildly built 460/C6. I have here they didn't hold up as well as they were suposed to with the torque the Diesels made, and was wondering if anyone has had any trouble with them behind gas engines (particularly big blocks). Thanks

I have several F-Super Duties with the ZF transmission, and have never had any trouble with that unit. The only problem with that setup is the concentric hydraulic throwout bearing, but that is neither here nor there. The ZF is a good unit, and hopefully you can buy one outright...I've looked here in Houston for one, and nobody wants to sell one outright, and that the common one with a big-block bellhousing bolt pattern.
