Yes, its true. But before anyone gets any ideas, it is a company truck.
Now, I am a Ford "fan"atic from birth. So, now I'll try to be objective since I just came out of a Ford to get into this one.
One, yes, Chevy has finally fixed the seats. A major complaint of the 90's era was the seats. The new ones, beat the Ford hands down. Now this is a "work truck" so it doesn't have the higher end seats, but they are more comfortable than Fords. More support too.
Next, it has the 6.0 liter, and to tell you the truth I'm not impressed. I've been averaging 11 mpg and it is constantly shifting our of fourth and it is even equipped with 4.10 gears. Just not the power I expected.
Well, wife is calling to help paint. Must go or live with her later. I'll finish later

I have never expected the 6.slow to have that much power for its application.
It's basically a high-revving version of what the 350 was (in terms of slot in HD engine lineup) and with the HD GM trucks not exactly getting leaner in terms of weight, it's not really a good combo for anything more than the 1500HD/2500(LD) in reg cab/short bed form.

The one they got me was extended cab with utility bed on it. After loading it down with all my tools/ladders and supplies, it just doesn't have the power I wished it had. Other than that, it seems to be ok. I hate, HATE GM for the fact that just about upgrade has to be reprogrammed into the computer.
For example, I would love to put a OEM cd player in it, but the truck has to be told to play the new radio, or it locks it out. Same way with fog lights. Its no wonder GM is suffering if they require a trip to the dealer for easy things such as changing the radio for another.
Another pet peeve, the middle seat. The middle seat is fixed. It doesn't slide foward or back, nor does it fold down. To get that, it was another $1000 option. Also, the doors seem cheap to me. What I mean is when they close. I guess due to the rear opening doors, but they don't "feel" right when they close.
Anyway, I'll keep you up to date as I drive more. It rolled over to 1000 miles today after a week of driving.
