Rail System Frustration...Overhead dvd

I wish now i didnt have the rail system in my truck. Its pretty much useless. There are no aftermarket items to use and it has made it near impossible to find a good overhead dvd.

Ive seen the crappy one on moss motors and it looks cheap to me.

Has anyone been able to find a good solution for an overhead dvd system?

I dont want the thing to block my rear view when in the closed position.

Ive read allmost every thread I can find on the subject and it seems im not alone.

This truck has been out for nearly 2 years. There is no reason why we dont have any options as far as an overhead dvd solution.

Just needed to vent a little.

I added a shelf system. I got it through J.C. Witney. There were a couple of options. The only thing I had a probem with was my sun visors didn't fit under the shelf. I'm six foot and drive a Ranger. I fixed it by keeping them in the factory position. I don't usae my sun visors to block the sun. Just to hold things ou of my way.

Here is what I am doing. I got this overhead pod (sd322a) from http://www.salient-designs.com that is specifically for the rail system. Then searched for a monitor that would fit. got this item #5779882295 for $400 on ebay and am installing it myself tomorrow. I will let you know how it turns out and if it blocks rear view.

I guess you could opt for dual headrest DVD monitors and bypass the overhead altogether.

Have you seen this? http://www.myronanddavis.com/product...=133&LineID=12
They also have a 7" version: http://www.myronanddavis.com/product...=132&LineID=12

Both come in grey or parchment to match the F-150 interior choices.

I also checked with a local dealer and they have a couple of systems that they can modify slightly to fit by cutting holes for the rail system. I saw it installed and it looks clean, but now that this setup is out, I'd go that way. If you want info on the other choices, let me know.
