00' XLT hesitation at 45+ mph

Ok,

I have been diligently reading the posts here and have gotten lost a few times. My 2000 V6 Flex Fuel XLT (49000 miles) was starting to ping real bad and hesitate a little at 45 - 55 mph and had P0401 Code. I did the following:

1. Cleaned MAF and Throttle body (in vehicle)
2. Changed Plugs and Wires (Bosh Platinum x4 and Bog-Warner Perf Wires)
3. Cleaned the EGR Lines
4. Tank of 89 Oct with Gumout fuel system cleaner (at about 1/4 tank now)
5. Replaced the DPFE

The Code is gone the ping is minimal (better than when new), but the hesitation seems worse. Any suggestions on the next logical step? I am doing a lot of highway driving now so I spend a lot of time at 45+ and the hesitation is driving me nuts.

Welcome to FTE!

Have you thought about replacing the fuel filter?

Also, some people have had less-than-spectacular results with Bosch spark plugs in their Fords, especially those equipped withe EDIS.

Well I changed my fuel filter. Went with the Motorcraft filter per another post here. Seems to have help, but I have not done a lot of highway yet. Holding off on the plugs for now.

Thanks,

Replaced my Botched plugs with Autolite APP103s and that seemed to help quite a bit. Still have a heavy amount of vibration at 55 - 65, but I don't think it is from the engine missing. I will know more today cause I have to do some serious expressway driving.
