Where to mount cb?

Where to mount cb?
I am a long time lurker, and now have a question I hope you all can give me some ideas.
I have a 2002 Screw, Lariat with bucket seats and center console. I would like to mount my cb radio in this truck, and am having a hard time trying to find room for it. Would like to mount it so it doesn't look like an after thought.
My radio is a NorthStar 9000, and is fairly large, about 8 x 9 and 2inches tall.
I have built a wooden console to fit between the dash and the factory console, it sets on the tranny hump and works ok, but would like another option. Any ideas? I am a retired big rigger and miss my cb after all those years living with one. Also, any ideas on antenna mounting, that would look good on a Screw?
Thanks,
Mike

I just mounted my cb below a/c controls and all that. I have one antenna on my toolbox and just mounted another one on my bumer for the the 102" whip. I'll be using one or the other, not both at same time. '97 f150 4x4. Are you looking ot make it more discrete? The radio itself.
I've got a site where you can see pictures of it mounted, if you are interested, I figure you've already seen this type of set-up though.

I also have my CB mounted below my AC controls, which leaves it at an upwards angled position. I have Francis whip antenna mounted on my bed directly behind my extended cab back window in the center. Let me know how your works out "Devils." I am having problems getting background noise that is coming from my fuel pump when the truck is on or the key is in the run position. My local CB shop said our Ford trucks are notorious for fuel pump noise. Any suggestions??? One other prob I had was finding good ground for my antenna, havent worked that out yet. You pretty much have to ground all body parts to the frame really well. Being a big rigger, Im sure thats obvious to you!

Hey Stang, I grounded my cb right next to the cb, down around where the data link connector is, a little closer to the drivers door than the data link, i just found some bare metal, unbolted an existing bolt and attached the ground there. No background noise problems, atleast for the antenna on my bumper. Maybe I just got lucky and found a good ground.
