Shopping for F350 Pickup Canopy - Reputable Discount Stores?
Hello,
I am looking on behalf of my husband for a pickup canopy and trying to save some money of course. Any reputable discount sellers/online sellers of pickup canopies? I realize shipping on something like that would be a lot but wonder if the cost savings would still be significant. He has a F350. We live in Oregon.

Are you looking for a shell or just cover for the bed?
Leer has the shells and covers and they are all over the country.

Looking for a shell... my husband liked the "Leer" brand but really what my question is...is if there is a way to buy a canopy shell at a discount price via the internet or a discount store other than going to a local canopy store. Just thought there may be a discounter out there that sells these.
I doubt you will find a cheaper price for a new topper/canopy through any online dealer. Sometimes you may get lucky and locate a new topper on Ebay.
I would suggest searching the local area for a quality used topper, and then look at the dealer pricing in your area. You may even find a drive (1+ hour) may save you more then a local dealer.
If you have any problems it's nice to take it in for warrenty to the dealer.
Thanks for writing back. I went and looked at the ebay link and saw the "Topper"... my husband wants new though. I can try to use that terminology when searching as well online. But you are likely correct in that will need to go through a local dealer for this.

Guessing from your name you must be in Portland. I am also, I got a canopy from Northwest Auto Accesories on Sandy Blvd. They are great to deal with. I picked up an ARE canopy. A realatively good place to do businesss with is Gem Top I think they have a new name but same building. It is right next to the Milw. exit on I-205. There address is probably on 82nd drive. There is also a small guy on 82nd near Johnson Creek Blvd. They both carry Leer I believe. Get on the phone is probably your best bet. You probably just need to know the color you want as well as the bed length and year of truck. If it is a new truck I would contact the dealer or salesman that sold you the truck because he should be able to get it for you at jobber or a very good discount. Good Luck.

Yes indeed I am in Portland. Ok I printed your message off and will talk to my husband about this. The truck is a 2004... so I wonder if we could go back to the dealer/salesman and get a deal...never hurts to try does it.

Well I hope this thread is still being followed. I picked up my canopy today for my 05 F350 long bed. Canopies West in Molalla (45 minutes south of Portland). $1300 for a double rear door, front/side tinted sliders, overhead carpeting and matching paint. I had compared it to GemTop's Outfitter, they're base model (double doors, sliders and paint) started at about $1850.
Seemed to have a lot of options to choose from and builds them at the shop. Had about a 1 1/2 week turn around to delivery.
If you are a COSTCO member... check out the online coupon for 20% off at your local ARE dealer. Heck for that savings you can join COSTCO and still keep some green in your pocket.
