Install a trans temp guage anyone?

Has anybody installed a trans temp guage? I have a heavy duty tow package on my escape, but I would like to keep tabs on internal temps as I'm towing up long grades or moutain passes. Any suggestions on a guage that a back yard shade tree mechanic like me could install reasonably easy. Thanks for your time, Richard

I don't have the temp gauge but I installed this:

and although it doesen't have a gauge, I feel pretty safe with the added cooling power.
I also installed a tranny filter from Summit Racing.

Perma-cool has an external transmission filter kit that comes with a temperature gauge as an option. I installed just the filter kit. The gauge is electric and the sender screws into the top of the filter casting. Here is a link:
