My last two or three time using T/H mode my truck has had very hard downshifts. More specifically the rough downshift is only the final shift to low at around 25 mph. It does this with or without a load and not everytime. It does not seem to have any consistency to it as sometimes it does it under heavy braking and sometimes when coasting to slow down. Any suggestions?
My rig is an 05 SD F350 Lariat SB SRW Auto

 

rough down shifts in tow haul mode are usual to an extent. Ino that with no load it can make the tires chirp when it down shifts, but also ford has had problems woth that new transmission. if it is not consitant all the time you might have a problem and need to let the dealer check it out.

 

I noticed this also pulling a large trailer, it would shift to first with a loud clunk. This also did not happen every time. I have not taken it to the dealer yet. The 03 I had did not do this.
