Unhappy Air bag flashing code "13"

Actually now its flashing "12". Here's the sitch:

'94, f-150, 4.9, dual tank, short bed, 5 speed, 2wd.

Flashing "13". Horn, Cruise not working and SOMETHING was draining on the battery. I would have to jump it every couple of days if I didn't run it. Lately it was getting to the point of every day.

Noticed that wire to the horn wasn't even hooked up! (bought from nephew couple months ago.) Attached wire to horn and it was constant on. Pulled fuse for horn from box in engine but am still concerned about drain on battery. Saw from an earlier post that "13" means a shorted out air bag sensor? So also pulled fuse for air bag from under dash. Now (its only been 2 days) there doesn't seem to be a drain but air bag light is flashing "12".

What does either "13" or "12" mean and where do I start looking to find the short? Would like to get horn and cruise working. Could care less about the air bag. Just bought a Haynes manual but it says nothing about air bags in it. Why is that?

Code 12 is low battery voltage, you pulled the fuse - 0 volts is definitely low.
Code 13 is air bag circuit shoted to ground and if flashing indicates air bag monitor has blown its internal fuse. It reads shorted between pins 11 and 12 of the air bag diagnostic monitor (less than 2 volts). Given the other problems you list sound like clockspring is bad (search for clockspring in forum ); also since the internal fuse in airbag monitor is probably blown the monitor will probably have to be replaced after all other problems are repaired. 95 manual says internal fuse is not replaceable and if all problems are not fixed the fuse will blow agaiin. As always disconnect positive battery cable for at least one minute before working on airbag system although with system fuse and internal fuse out you should have no power to system. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the info, 95. At least now I know where to look. I was told about the clockspring before but didn't know if it was bad considering the horn still worked (even though its shorted somewhere).

bajonk,
my 94 flashes code 3-2 which is the clockspring yet my cruise and horn both still work also.

Since I do wear a seatbelt and drive 99% of the time on a divided highway, I could care less if it works or not. Not worth the $100 part to me to bother fixing it.
