AOD SHIFT LINKAGE: LOKAR or B&M?
I am planning on controlling my AOD with a floor mounted shifter, and I was wondering if I should employ a Lokar shifter or B&M shifter. I am leaning more towards the Lokar but hear the installation is ruff. Can anyone give me a clue as to what Im in for? I do not have a twin stick yet but am considering this in the future. And the transmission is already in.

I decided to role with the B&M truck mega shifter. I have got the installation 95% complete. I am pleased with the shifter so far. the hardest part about the install in my opinion is trimming the shifter cover to mount flush with the floor. I choose to mount mine at an angle. With the front bracket anchored to the top of the tunnel cover and the bottom mounted to the floor.
As far as the headers go I am running wildhorses shorties and I had to grind off about a quarter of an inch off of the bell housing but nothing major. I would call duffs and ask them about that, see what they say. Just put the headers on last after the engine is mounted to the transmission.

Also have the truck mega shifter...looks like a high quality shifter. I like the option of quick ratchet style or full manuel. Will try calling Duff's, they have always been very helpful in past.
Have you calibrated tranny? It's been awhile since I had my head in this project, but isn't there a cable that effects line pressure or something that has to be adjusted properly for tranny to shift right?
Thanx for getting back.

TV cable is the next thing I need to knock out. From what I hear it is crucial that you have the pressure set right or you will fry the tranny. As of now I am going to look at my manuals, And if those are not helpful I may consider towing to a tranny shop. I am going to try and tackle that problem this week I will let you know how it goes.
