Weight of gallon gasoline?
I am interested in what gasoline weighs to see how much my 18 gallons in the rear tank contributes to traction in the snow, especially since my area is getting hit with about 5 to 6 inches as I write. I think that between the rear tank and that it is an extended cab with short bed, I should have pretty good traction. Last year I had a different truck with no rear tank and a regular cab. The traction was poor until I filled the bed with snow (2000 pounds) and then it really gripped!

THanks for the weights. I have used solid cement blocks at times and sandbags/saltbags at times. This truck (95 f150 extended cab) seems to do quite well in the snow--so far--even the junk all packed in and choped up along the curbside parking (wife's aerostar not so good). Also, I carry a shovel in the back just in case.

Another thing that might help is about 5 lbs or so less air in the rear tires. Not so much that they will affect handling. Helps me...
ALSO! If you are going to put heavy objects in the bed either use sandbags or tiedown those heavy hard objects such as rr ties or cinder blocks. Hate to have an accident and look to see if your pass. is ok and there is a block where his head used to be!!!
