Ford Service run off another one

I have a friend that was on his 2nd 6.0. He wishes that he never traded the 2003 7.3. He got a new Ford every 2 years for past 20 years due to tax write off with depreciation. The 1st 6.0 (2003) in the shop constantly. He is a rancher and makes a living with his truck and needs a 1 ton daily. After several months and alot of complaining Ford traded him for an 04. Several times in the shop and having to be towed twice in last 3 weeks, and was accused by dealership of running farm diesal, (which he never has) and said that nothing was wrong other than running red diesal and warranty would be voided any. He said enough is enough and traded for an 05 1 ton 4x4 crew cab Dodge Diesal Duelly. So sad.

Hope the doors don't fall off of that Dodge. He'll love the engine.

Since this sounds like a thread to rip on the ford service people I got a question about them too....

I was out test driving an '03 6.0 with a buddy ( I was dissapointed) and we got to talking about chips and what not and he said that if you install the "complete" banks kit it wont void the warranty.

is this true??? I have never heard such a thing before, kinda seems like banks and ford have a thing together.

and sorry about your friend, good thing the cummins will be trouble free, but watch that lift pump.

that's what banks says.. and i think that what the law says... but.. you go into ANY ford dealership with a sick mule that has ANY mods on it and it's "sorry mr. soandso... that fact that you added this aftermarket performance part means that you caused this diesel to operate outside of manufactures specified norms and therefore you have voided the manufacturers warranty..." bunch of bs, and we all know it... but they are the ones who get paid by ford to do the warranty work on your truck, and they will use ANY, and i mean ANY excuse to shirk there responsibility in this.. the manufacturers barely pay these stealerships enough to cover the labor cost of these repairs... truly the stealerships often loose money on these deals... the ONLY reason they do it is because they HAVE TO... if they don't ... ford pulls their francise and stops sending them cars to sell... besides.. you come in for warranty... and they "FIND" something wrong that is NOT cover... you get to pay.. and they make money...!
