There is a switch on the brake pedal, mechanical and one on the clutch, mechanical. I believe both of these shut down cruise when respective pedal is depressed Check both to be sure they are nor broken/misadjusted; brake switch is closed with pedal depressed, clutch switch closes when depressed (two sets of contacts one to start and one for cruise).
Check fuses 13, 18 and E

Hello,
My name is Freek from the Netherlands Europe.
I have the same problem.
I've replaced the clock-spring, but the cruise-control don't work.
Horn and fuses are OK.
But the mastercylinder is leaking.
So this should be the problem ?
Witch part must be replaced ?
The red one ?
Thanx in advange,
Freek

Freek - disconnect the connector from the pressure switch until you get a replacement. This switch will prevent the cruise from working - it also has power to the switch at all times. Do not leave the power on the leaking switch.
dehman - I am looking at a 95 manual so do not have all the right info for 96 model; check your owners manual for fuse locations applications and numbering/lettering. on 95 numbered fuses are in instrument panel fuse box and lettered fuses are in engine compartment fuses panel. On the clutch I would think there would be some device to disengage the cruise when the pedal is depressed to prevent overrevving the engine, the 95 manual shows a mechanical switch on clutch pedal linkage in passenger compartment?? Look for something on clutch circuit, Hydraulic clutch?? pressure switch??
Other than this, the clockspring, cruise servo, PSOM and PCM (and all associated wiring) are all involved, but with the differences noted between 95 and 96 you may need to find newer info source for your application.
I did have to take the cruise servo cover off and clean up corrosion on the interior and free up the mechanical components (search for cruise control in forum and you should come up with several threads with details).
