You know, you have to find the right balance for you... You're obviously looking for power lifting, not endurance. Smaller amounts of reps per set w/ more weight. You really do have to eat. You have to have more to build the muscle out of. Good luck!

im not sure im over training, just that the work i do works off all the weight i put on.
lately my work out has been- sunday- legs / abs, about 40 minutes
tuesday-chest, shoulders, back, abs, 1 hour max
thursday-biceps /curls / abs, 30 minutes
and wednesday is fight training, about 2 hours. when lifting i give myself about 2 minutes between sets.

I think genetics have as much to do with it as anything. When I was working out all the time (7-8) years ago, my arms were huge. I could out-curl anyone. The bench press was a different story though. I did alot of cardio (mountain biking) which sucks for bulking up. What worked well for me was lifting 3-4 days/week and doing like back+biceps, chest+ triceps, shoulders+stomach(abs), throw in a leg workout(didn't do legs much cause of the bike about 60-80mi/week) or maybe an extra ab. I ate 3 or 4 cans of tuna a day. Usually straight from the can. Thats what worked for me. Listen to your body it'll tell ya. And just remember that the first exercise you do will be the best, you'll usually fizzle after that. Oh, one more thing, when I'd start my work out I'd do the particular body part until failure, then move on.
I agree with portcity. I do tri-ceps/chest on monday, biceps/ abs wednesday, and legs in general friday. Eat a lot, get tons of protein, and lift hard. Im 6-1 235 and my max bench is 325, when im done i cant bench press 135 but 2 or 3 times. same thing with biceps and legs, i basically lift until i cant lift, and eat a lot.
It kinda sucks, a hot chick might walk in the weight room when im at the end of my work out, and im struggling like hell to curl 60 or so lbs!
also, drinking the "non-light" beer help bulk up a little i guess. like i went from bud-lite to budweiser, and gained 20 lbs. I didnt work out over the summer between my sophmore/junior year in highschool, and drank budwieser instead of budlite and natural light (naddy) luckily the 20 lbs didnt all show in my stomach region.
to increase you're punch power and coordination, get a punching bag and imitate mike tyson.

Sorry to bring up this thread... I avoided it for a while, sometimes ( no offense) sometimes the advise we give is akin to a train wreck.. Built tough, if you are ever in Portland oregon, stop by the dinosore pit, its a private powerlifting club...
I just saw this thread. I know the Dinosore Pit is a powerlifting gym, but is it also a bodybuilding gym? Thanks.
Pull ups are your friend. Weighted pull ups are an even better friend. Finish w/ heavy curls, no more than 8 reps. Don't leave the gym till your arms feel like they are going to explode.
