will a sohc swap woth the push rod motor???

if the sohc v-6 motor goes can a push rod v-6 bolt right in with no problems????

What year? The OHV wasn't offered after 2001, and the electronics probably aren't compatible either.

I just looked at a 98 explorer sport that said sohc on the top of the air intake

You sorta' made his point. The pushord (AKA "OHV") 4.0 wasn't around after 2001, but the OHC 4.0 was available after 96 in the Exploders.

The OHC engine tranny is slightly different than the OHV version.....even though I thoroughly dislike the OHC 4.0, I would not lose 40 pnoies either.

A 5.0L Exploder would make a great donor in place of a 98 4.0L, since you'd need the tranny for that, but the engine harness plugs right into the firewall...

yes I too like the idea of puting a 5.0 in an explorer sport
