Rubber Bed Mats?

Instead of spending "boo coo" bucks on a spray in bedliner setup why not just buy a rubber full size bed mat for the F-150? For those of us who use our trucks on a more "reduced" hauling mode would not this be the best course of action?

I agree. I have looked at several on ebay that have the F-150 emblem on the mat and they really look good. Only problem i have is having the money to get one! But like all things on my truck its just gonna have to be over time that i get everthing done to my truck... don't have very deep pockets here...lol

If you get one, make sure it is the Ford mat, very thick and heavy like he said. I also got the factory bedliner, so everything is protected, and nothing slides on the rubber mat.

I have a mat in mine also. The mat keeps things from sliding around in the bed better than a drop in liner or a sray in. You might as well get a tailgate mat to protect that too.

I've been looking for an inexpensive mat for the tailgate. Anyone got any suggestions?

I've had one in my last 2 trucks and it is the best way to go. My last truck was 11 years old and 179,000 miles and there was no rust underneath. Mine is from Ford (I got them down to the lowest price I could and then offered to buy only if they threw in the bed mat. Their cost was in the $50 range so it should cost under $75 to a customer).

If you dent the wheel wells using the truck as a truck, you can buy a bedliner when you are ready to sell. They are just not good for everyday use.

Thats exactly what I use as well. Although for the flare-side I did have to special order one from our local Farm Supply store. This think is good and heavy.

Do the FORD logo'd mat's actually fit the entire bed? I have a Penda Liner mat - have had one of those for my last 4 trucks - and for some reason on the new F150 SCREW's, they made them an inch short. So I have wanted to buy the ford one if it fit exact, but didn't know where to ask.

Thanks.

My buddy has the 6.5' bed with a Penda Mat and it fits his almost perfect too. But for some reason for my 5.5' bed it is an inch short.

WhiteNight - is yours a 5.5' bed?

Thanks.

I have gone through JC Whitney to buy my last two. They are called "Duraliners" and are about 1/4" thick and nice and heavy. Cost was $70 or $80 I think. I really like these mats. Had the last one for about 3 years, hard to even scuff. This time I have the Line-X and the rubber mat.

How thick is it?? The Penda mat is 1/2" thick and I believe is about $60 bucks as well. I'd want the thickest matt possible. If you guys could take a measure tape out would be interested.
