hi all, need to know what distributors will fit a 460...i.e., will the dist out of a 351 work, you know, interchangeability.

would like to upgrade from points to msd, and i am sure that if i search for one for a 460 it will run more than if i look for one for a 351w on ebay.

A 351W distributor and a 460 distributor are the same, aside from the distributor gear. I have an EFI 460 Dizzy on my 351W EFI truck, and it works no problem once I replaced the dizzy gear.

And on ebay, you'll find that the dizzy prices between 351W and 460 are fairly consistant with each other. The only reason why I have the 460 dizzy on my 351W is because the original one had a crack in the housing, and I had a 460 dizzy lying on my workbench.

Kerm, I was just there a few months ago. I bought a dizzy from a late 80's 351W the shaft length was Ok, but the elecs were different than my 86 duraspark.. different wire connections on the late 351w. Mine wouldnt work.
Iwent out and bought a new one at the parts house for 45 buck... way better than my old one. Barca
