you be the Judge

I asked the garage to come tow my 88 f150 to the shop after a week or so and I didnt hear anything I went by there, he said he had to put on a set of brakes and it probably needed a intank fuel pump, after a couple weeks and not hearing anything I went by there they said we were going to call you your truck is all done, I seen a 6 page bill totalling 2500.00 plus tax, I am floored and have no idea what to do, do I just give him the truck? Thank you for your time

well, if it was done legally, You signed a paer when you dropped off (or they picked up) the truck. By Law, on that paper, you indicated whether you requested a written estimate before any work was done, or whether you agreed to have the work done without the written estimate.

Get the paper and see what you signed. That would be the first place to start.

Any work done over $100 would normally require ba written estimate, unless like Dave said you signed the paper and waived the right. Ask to see what ya signed.
