Worthwhile upgrades
Hey All, I've been thinking of tinkering with my stock Explorer and was wondering what upgrades and mods are worth doing. I realize it's a personal preference but would like some opinions. I won't be doing anything outlandish but might be interested in some performance improvments, cheap tricks or value adding ideas. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Exhaust always rots out in Ontario, so start with a stainless cat. back system. If you like, you could spring for a high flow cat at the same time.
Chips are the way to jack up the power with out too much fuss. You should go up the main board & look around that forum to see if something sounds like what you'd want.
I don't care for the plastic dress-up crud `cause that stuff gets broken too easily.

Hey Dealford, thanks for the response. Nothing is wrong with my exhaust right now (except maybe the cat is getting plugged with age), other than DriveClean I don't see a reason to change it. What other benifits would I get with it? As for chips I am a little leary of them. I have heard good and bad things about them. I don't go for the plastic frilly foo foo things either. I'm too old to put a six foot stainless wing on the back of my SUV. One thing I did think of doing is replacing the rear springs. The explorers always sag in the back and I've already done shocks.
