need favor-ballpark stock horsepower on following engines

I am looking into getting a newer truck (anything from a 95-00). F250 is what I want, but I don't know a lot about engines and I want to get some decent power so I would like to know the ballpark horsepower, and what I could get that horsepower up to with some simple upgrades (chip, exhaust, air intake, etc...)
302 (this is just for curiosity. :-))
V10,
5.4 V8
460
351 (also, curiosity)
6.0 diesel
7.3 diesel

I realy appreciate it ahead of time guys.

what are you going to use the truck for? That will determine what engine to use.

I'm doing some of this from memory, so no guarantees of accuracy:

302- 200 HP
351- 215 HP
460- 235 HP
5.4- 300HP (3V)
V10- 362 HP (3V)
6.0 PSD- 325 HP
7.3 PSD- 265 HP

This is a little deceptive, because torque is really what makes a truck move, and there's a bigger difference (especially between the 302/351 and the 460) than those numbers would lead you to believe.

well I just want my truck to have a good bit of "get up and go" to it. I won't pull anything more than 4 or 5 times a year and that still isn't much, I just want the "get up and go" so between the deisels and the 5.4, and with a few of my add on's, which one is the way to go?

If you are not going to pull anything and are just looking for something to play with, I would go with the 5.4

In ideal conditions the 5.4L is averaging a bit over 15 from what most people have posted her before. If you want something you are going to play with and have lots of power, you are going to give up some of that gas mileage

yeah I know, that's why I was looking more at the diesels. I mean, can I really go wrong with either one, the 6.0 or the 7.3?
