Smile Hello Fellow Alaskans

Hello everyone I happened across this site while trying to "know-up" on all the 'problems' with my 2004 F250 Superduty Supercab 4x4 LB PSD with the TorqueShift tranny. Site looks really impresive and I really like the Alaska board. Look forward to talking to all of ya'. Gotta love this weather don't you. Spring is finally here. Let the big kings roll!

Is that 6.0 giving you some problems? I have read a little about them over at The Diesel Stop .com and there do seem to be a few trouble spots. Some guys seem to have good luck and others have nothing but trouble. I hope you got a good one..

Well, it's been pretty good so far.....only had to take the truck in once because of the transfer case shifter kicking out of 4wd while driving down the road. I don't notice any problems with my tranny, but I did recieve "my letter" from ford, so I am going to get it "repaired".

Almost a good one....

Parked the truck the other night. Woke up yesterday morning to find "green blood" under the truck. Upon eximaniation found leak in radiator hose. Took truck to NYE Ford. They discovered a broken hose clamp. No worries.....covered under warranty. System flushed (notice I said flushed.....turnes out that the repair facility in Sterling but Green Blood in my diesel instead of GOLD Blood. But I'm back on track now....They "reminded me" of my tranny appointment for May 9th. Hopefully everything will go smooth there

Seems like I recall something a while back about weak hose clamps. Did they change them all?

I don't think so, that would cost them too much money..... They just replaced the broken one, flushed the system and put in new fluid. Hopefully, I'll get lucky and can have another one break before next winter and get my system flushed again. I will agree with you on the weak clamps. I saw somewhere on the web about a recall for hose clamps. NYE Ford wasn't to suprised when I told them the problem and that it was a diesel.

Doesn't really seem cheaper in the long run to change the coolant four times rather than one but I guess it is there buck not yours..

Yea, I'll agree with you there. I'll find out May 9th if I get just a few replaced parts for the tranny or a new one. Guess it depends on what they find when they crack it open. Still seems to work like it's supposed to. I find it hard to believe it'll have gone in 3 times for recall issues and it's only got 4000 miles now!
