Fuel Injectors

Has anyone priced the fuel injectors from their dealer lately? I am trying to see what kind of mark up this particular dealer is running here. See, my buddy called our local dealer for a brake caliper bolt, told $16.00. Called another dealer, say 30 miles away and was given the price of $2.00. SO, I called my local dealer to get a price on fuel injectors for my V10, they told me $1000.00. Just parts. Anyone else found this to be accurate? Also, what are the stock injectors running as far as pounds goes? Found a set of Bosch (8 in a set for a V10 OF COURSE!) for $256.00. Just wondering... Coming up on 80,000 miles on her and wanted to change them out. May just have them cleaned in stead.

According to 1stfordparts.com an injector for an 05 V10 retails for 36.94, there price is 27.71. However for an 02 for example, the list is 81.72, there price is 61.29. Thats quite a difference. I would definitely check 1stfordparts to know that you are getting a fair price at your local dealer.

Before you shell out big bucks replacing your injectors I would have them cleaned first and see if it helps!

There can be a huge difference in price between the dealers.

Thanks guys for the advice. I should have said I have a 00 V10. I was thinking about just replacing them, sort of preventive maintanance type. Nothing is wrong with them, I just know they do not last forever. I will check out that website. Even if they are running $60+ per, there should be no reason I would have to buy them for $100 per.
