Clunk instead of start, Starter AGAIN?

This morning when I went out to leave for work my Bronco made 2 slow clunks when I turned the key and then everything went dead. I lost all battery power completely. If I leave it sitting for a while and try again I will have battery power until I try to turn the key, at which time I get a clunk and then everything dies again. I tried jump starting it with no change. I changed the starter out probably 6 months ago. The battery was also replaced around the same time. Does it sound like the starter would be the most likely problem again? Thanks.

Sounds more like the battery, if everything went dead. Check that first.

One more thing, check cable at the block (ground) and the positive st the starter are
they tight, and is the starter tight in its mounting.

I'll check the cables when I get home. I was thinking that since jump starting it did nothing it most likely wasn't the battery. Wouldn't having cables on it pretty much bypass a problem with the battery? Thanks.
