1945 1/2 ton ford p/u >>Brake pedal assembly<< ???

Hi All, Still working on my 45 p/u. Can't beleive how long it takes to build one of these pickups. And the money involved . Whew!!! Anyway, I am about ready to set up my brake system and I need to know what vehicle to use to find my BRAKE PEDAL ASSY. I will have GM 4 wheel disc brakes. Would a GMC G20 full size van work good on this application or do I need to go with like a full size chevy pickup truck ? I know most of you have done something in this order. Please let me know what to use,IE (what vehicle to rob from a bone yard). I used a 1991 GMC G20 full size van steering column,and it is a perfect fit for the length,and it came with 2 swivels at the bottom. I have to rebuild a mount to bolt it to under the dash yet,but this is normal for refabing these ole trucks. I used a 1979 camaro front stub on the front and a 1980 t/a 10 bolt rear axle w/disc brakes. Thanks all, Lee

If you want to keep the firewall clean, go with a Kugel style. It turns the master cyliinder 90 degrees to the pedal, 70's Dodge vans had them. If you are looking for a compact unit try a 76 - 80 Ford LTD ll . It has a 9 inch booster and large capacity master cylinder with proportioning valve. Go to Master power brakes website to get some good brake information.
