Navigator Gauge Cluster in a Expedition?

I just traded my 03 expy in for an 05 Limited, and I really don't like the appearance of the "updated" instrument cluster. Does anyone know if an 05 Navigator instrument cluster will match the wiring and connectors of the 05 Expy (with message center) cluster? Thanks.

OK nobody seems to have looked into this yet. Sooooo I went ahead and gambled my $210 on the Navigator instrument cluster. I hope this isn't the start of a big money project. I'll keep you posted.

Couple of items: first, $210 is a great price for an instrument cluster--how'd you manage that? Second, I don't believe the truck will start with the new cluster unless you have Ford set it up--the chip key on your original cluster will not recognize the new cluster, unless you take it to Ford first.

I'm not up on the Expy/Nav deal lately, but that was the case with F150s in 2001. There are two 'brains' that work with the chip key--one in the truck and one in the cluster--and you can't just change out the cluster and get it to recognize your key.

Good luck.

I'm also interested since everyone seems to be saying the nav radio in the expy is not sat ready. The navigator's is.

Sorry for the long time lapse for an update (my laptop died). The parts person at my LD called someone at Ford headquarters who stated the programming and modules were different in the Navigator and would not work in an Expedition. So I'm on hold until I get a good wiring schematic, and I believe the new computer network interfaces to the cluster. I will be trying to do this in a few months after I get more info, and I'll post then. Thanks.

Anyone thought of putting the floor shift from an F150 or Navigator into an Expy?
