WiFi HotSpots
Ofcourse your Kinkos and StarBucks have wireless internet connections for just the right price thru TMobile.
Today I was suprised when I passed my neighborhood Wendys.....to find a banner advertising free wireless internet connections inside. I fired up the laptop...and there I was.....all hooked up wireless right there in the Wendys parking lot. How sweet is that?

By 2015 we will be able to drive around town and there are going to be honeycomb looking things that will hang from the light poles, buildings, etc. that will allow you to connect to. So basically we will be connected at all times.

This allows you to QUICKLY find HotSpots and it works very well.
Make sure you know how to set up your laptop because in less than 5 minutes anyone with enough knowledge can break into your computer, these networks aren't very secure.

Thats cool, free internet at a Wendys. Only other places I've gotten free (legal) wifi is at the airports and libraries/student centers.
You can fire up your lap top pretty much anywhere in town and get a signal, but your basically stealing bandwidth (probably from someone else unsecure network); I've used it to check email, but thats about it.

man o man. Where do I start. There are so many ways to protect yourself from HotSpots.
Turn off file and print sharing, disable any shared drives, use NTFS files system, disable guest account, rename administrator account, prevent the last user that was logged in from showing up, disable ANY AND ALL infrared ports, enable Encyption File System (window 2000 only).
You can google for so much more information. Just have all windows update installed.
