5.0 HO
Hi, the taurus sho is a 6 cyl. engine not even the same type of bird. the 5.0HO is a beast of it's ownthe last year they put them in the mustang cobra they were rated at something like 295hp
they wind up really fast because of the roller cam and rockers they build the power with the difference between standard and roller different injection Ihave a superchip and dynomax exhaust on my 95 and it will run 13.88 @ 101 in the quarter they really fly. John Sugden (FATFORTY)

5.0 HO
the 5.0 HO evolved just like any other things out there
it went from pretty much a truck block to a big performer
1982-157hp-8.4:1cr, marine flat tappet cam-aluminum 2bbl intake
1983-175hp-same as 1982 except with 600cfm holley 4bbl-new block mid year
1984-175hp-same as mid to late 1983 block
1985-210hp-hydraulic roller cam-new block for cam-new heads-headers
1986-200hp-stronger block-cr upped to 9.2:1-high swirl heads-fuel injection
1987/88-225hp-same block, heads, cam as 1986-truck casting wedge heads with larger ports and valves
1989/92-225hp-mostly same as 87/88 except dropped throttlebody size to 55mm from 60mm
1993-205hp-mostly same as previous except used cheaper weaker pistons
1993-COBRA-235hp-same as HO except has GT40 heads, gt40 intake 65mm throttle body
