'82 302 headers on '84 302?
i recently ordered some heddman headers from summitracing.com
But i pop open the box expecting the instructions to say 84 and instead i spy 81-82. either i got sent the wrong parts, i ordered the wrong pars, or these will work. so my question is will these fit into my truck? I've done away with all the emissions crap and am having a brand new exhaust put on from the headers back. In looking at pictures of 82's they look the same on the outside as my 84, but I know the inside can be a whole nother story. Has anybody compared the engine compartments side by side and can comfirm that add-ons (such as headers) will fit either?
Thanks!!!

The blocks from an 82 should be the same as all others until at least 86. I am guessing that your 302 is a carbed block, and I think they were until at least 86 when they went to the other body style. 82 and 84 should be REAL similiar if not the same.
I ordered headers for a 80-86 F-250 with a 400m for mine (from Hedman) and my 400 block is from a 76 LTD. The exhaust was the same. I think you will be fine.

Thanks for the reply! I did some guess work today using the old manifolds and it does look like it will work. I'm figuring that they are labeled for 81-82 only because of some port needed to hook back up the air pump or other emmissions junk (which is now in my scrap pile). Unfortuately I may not have time to find out this weekend because one of my cylinders was pitted with rust and had to have a sleeve put it. Machinist forgot to trim the sleeve and the counter-balance on the crank wasn't clearing it. Oh well it'll get done soon.
