Door Rattles

Door Rattles
I bought my F250 a month ago, and I have had enough of the rattles coming from the passenger door. I have removed the panel and I think that the rattles are from the door handle/lock mechanism.
I can't force the rattle to sound, so I was unable to confirm it's origin...anyone else experience this problem ?
Thanks for any input.

Give us a clue here, reg. cab, ext. cab or crew, I know on my 05 250 s/c I had wind noise and a slight rattle when I first got it, turned out the s/c door was'nt latching at the bottom on the pass. side a good push at cab door handle height for the rear door cured that (no wiggle) more clues will help, jon

I had rattles on my truck doors, dealer found a tsb on it, it gives you the seals that run along the top, from the top hinge to the back of the rear door, seams to get rid of the rattles even though the seals appear to be the same except for the 2004 part number on them, dealer said it was a tsb for 99-04 superduty.

I have the same problem with my doors. I know the drivers side door rattles a little when I hit the right bump or twist the truck somewhat. It is a crew cab. I can hear a rattle from the passenger side too, but cant tell if its the front or rear door. Im happy with how quiet the truck is inside the cab compared to my 96 F150. The rattle kinda bugs me though, considering how much these trucks cost you shouldnt hear door rattles. Was there a latch problem?

I have the exact same problem.. Not only does it rattle, it seems that my auto door lock on that side is weak or something.. It works, but most of the time the first time you hit the door lock or unlock, it will only come part of the way up or down and sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to get it to fully lock or unlock.. Other times it like gives out and refuses to try anymore.. I was thinking the rattle had something to do with that...

It took 3 times this morning to open the locked doors.
I don't think it is directly related though...but not sure.
I only wish I could force the rattle once the door panel was off, but no luck. I thought I might put electrical tape or something on the linkages within the mechanism, but that might interfer with operation of the door lock/latching.

Dorr Rattle
Yup me too.
I located the exact problem for me. There is a plastic sleeve on the latching mechanism that engages the pin on the door pillar. The plastic acts as as a noise reducer until the plastic wears a bit. All 4 Doors on my 2002 Super Crew rattle.
I thought about compensating the wear (0.010") by moving the latch a little.....I did not see this as a noise reducing exercise, rather a "make the metal to metal noise" change.... I thought about compensating by putting a big piece of heat shrink on the pin. This is a solution that will need to be repeated again and again. Hmm
I waited for some warmer weather..
