I like now that I can have the doors open (thanks to Kwiks easy intructions) with the key in the ignition, but the cargo and both dome lights stay on. It would be great if I could use a switch to turn off all the lights also. Any ideas? And as always, thank you in advance.

 

You don't have the dimmer switch rolled all the way to bright do you? That's how my dome light turns on with the doors closed.

 

I'm sorry I didn't write that very well. I mean when the doors are open the key in and the ignition at the accessory posistion.

 

Oh ok, somebody with a wiring diagram maybe could post it and you could wire in a switch.

 

I did the same mod, however, after a certain amount of time I though they would turn off, but I don't remember if that was with the key on or off.

 

On my 2002, under the plastic passenger kick panel, there is a black wire with a light blue tracer which controls the dome/cargo light circuit. Cut a switch into this wire - dome light killed at will - Key in, radio on, doors open, no dome light.

Ooops, got soo excited I forgot to ask if you where you mounted the switch and what type of switch you used. Thanks again to all.

 

I put a rocker switch (almost any "automotive" 12v SPST) I bought at Autozone near the light switch, and ran some wire (14 ga) from the switch to where I cut the wire. You can put it pretty much where you want.
