Remanfactured Carbs

Has anybody bought a remanfactured carb from CarburetorExchange in Phoenix AZ?

I purchased a COTE-9510-C Holley carb this past week for my 1960 292 F-100
and it showed up with the choke plate lever and throttle lever bent and I do feel it was not damaged by the shipping company. I sent it back for another with no questions asked....I hope I get one back with no problems.

Just curious.

Monte

Hi Monte

I have the same carb on my 55 F-600. It's REALLY in need of a rebuild. I might just buy a reman like you did...did you finally get the replacement and is it installed?

I was just going to go get a kit and rebuild it myself but I haven't decided if I want to spend the time doing it if I can get one reasonably...

What did it cost?

It appears that a rebuilt carb will be around $100-150 around here...

I am tempted to get a kit though....it's only about $25 for a kit.

I got a brand new Holly 1850S from the local parts store for $240 last month. The original carb had a governor and I got a plain 4 barrel with a hand choke to replace it. Truck runs great. Is anyone else having more and more problems with rebuilt parts? I could have exchanged the old carb for about $150, but have had a lot of bad luck with rebuilt anything lately. I only wanted to do this once.
