16" wheel on my 83 F-150?

I'll be getting 6 basically new 16" tires off a 1 ton. Any ideas on what I can do for cheap rims? I think 67-77 F series half tons could have 16s from the factory with the right 5 on 5.5 pattern. I think 16s came back in as stock some time after 86 but have a different bolt pattern. Do my facts sound right?

No luck at the DesMoines area junkyards yet. Most don't have any trucks that old.... and I don't want to go to custom rims assuming the $$ would offset the savings on the tires. Junkyard say they'd be 5 -10 bucks IF they had them.

Any other donors ideas?

duh, my 83 is an F100. (I have a 3 others that are 84/85 F150s) They are the same bolt pattern.

Called a few more yards now I am just hearing .... don't have 'em but they'd be 20-25 dollars.

the older trucks never had 16's on the half tons, that showed up in the 90's. You can buy new white spoke rims for about $40 each that are 16" with your bolt pattern though. Not likely the junkyards are going to have anything.

Check out this thread. Bought them online from Jeg's. $39 each with free shipping. I bought the black powder coated 15X10.
They have 16X7 and 16X8 in the 5 on 5.5. Chrome too, if thats what you are looking for. I love mine.

I can see my link to Jegs won't work on here. The wheels are Cragar Soft Eight 397's. Get us some pictures when you get the new combo on.
