I did a recon to Featherly Park today to see if they needed a reservation for our next meeting on 4/16. Bad news. They don't allow day use. They are a private RV park. The gal there did recommend Yorba Park, which is just 3 miles west along the 91.

I'll be going over to Yorba Park on Saturday morning (4/9) to see where we could meet. According to the OC Parks website, they do have day use. No info on fees, if any. Yorba Park is located alongside the 91 freeway on E. La Palma between Imperial Hwy (on the west) and Yorba Linda Bl (on the east). Anyone been there before?
I'll get back to all Saturday with what I find out.

No. It's a meeting for anyone who is a member of the So Cal Chapter or who wants to join. You are welcome to attend.

Hi, saw you will be checking on an alternate meeting place, how about Irvine Park? I believe it is large enough to find a place for the group and a beautiful park. Weekends the parking is $5 per vehicle. Convenient to the toll roads if anyone wants to try those hills with old trucks. Here's their website: http://www.ocparks.com/fees/default.asp

P.S. Finally got the skinny on the truck my brother left my daughter, a 1953 F250 in poor, but running, condition. The project grows yet again

 

Sorry, following is a better link for Irvine Park. I haven't been to the other park so cannot compare them... I'm sure you'll want to compare access too and Irvine Park may be less convenient since it's not right off of a freeway...

Went to Yorba Regional Park today. It's gorgeous and will be a perfect venue. Paved parking, lots of shade, meeting cabanas, pinic tables, grass and a lake.

I have a name to call Monday for reservations, if needed. Will post final info sometime Monday.
