Reboot Computer

I've read in a post that whenever you do work on your truck you should reboot the computer by taking off the battery or something like that. Could you help me out on this? I've forgotten how this was done and I read back a month or so on previous posts but couldn't find it again. Last night I did some minor tune up stuff and would like to do this.

Thanks,
Jim

The easiest way to reset the onboard computer is to disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes.

Tune up items really dont require you to reset the Ecu . If sensors are replaced its best to let the Ecu relearn , Plus it will erase any codes set due to a sensor not operating correctly .

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and pulled the battery terminal for a while. Like you said Paul, I'm not sure if I had to but it couldn't hurt anything.
