What type of muffler do you but on a 4 banger. I have a 98 2.5 ranger Long box and am trying to figure out what to put on it.

Depends on how much you wanna spend. ou could go with a Gibson one. Those sound nice. You could even get the Lightning style one that comes out the right side infront of your right rear tire. Runs around 300 bucks.

Yea I have a cherry bomb glasspack on mine. Its decent. I hand cut the pipes and made mine come out the side like a lightning exhaust since Gibson doesnt make theirs for ford rangers.

 

If you want a cheap muffler just to cut the noise, Advance auto has one for $20. It is rated to take the flow of the 302" in the late '70s Maverick, so the 140/2.0 should flow just fine. (works for me) Just cut the pipes CLOSE to the old muffler, front and rear, and it will pop right in. Two clamps needed...

I put a high flow cat & a Magnaflow muffler in mine with 2&1/2" pipe all the way back from the cat.

Sounds awesome and gave me some ponies too!
