Alrighty, lets set our meeting place in "stone". Now we just need a time, whos coming, and whos going to bring what! I suggest mid May, mostly becuase of school concerns on my part (It would also give everyone plenty of time to plan for it). But if we need to have it earlier, or later, speak up We also need to get an idea of participation and how much grub needs to be rounded up. Anything I missed? Ok, talk amongst yourselves
All the potential meeting areas are listed and discussed in this THREAD
This is a simple "Yea/Nae" vote. All in favor of 1 of the picnic areas on Skyline Drive (shooting for Loft Mtn. or BigMeadows. There are 7 total), say Yea. All in disfavor, say Nae. Skyline was the most discussed place with plenty of fallback options, but if there are too many Nae's, we start over

B) Thats like a 3.5 hour drive(in good traffic) for Franken-Truck, and 2 hours away for me.
C) I suggest we have it in Richmond somewhere, or down in the Tidewater area (i.e., at Norfolk Waterside). The corvette forum just had a shindig down there in Norfolk last weekend, it was awesome!
It's is whatever is most convenient to the major that are coming. Remember this is a vehicle club so driving should be expected and desired.
Richmond is fine with me. I didn't want to push it since I live here and many do not.

Yes, but we can't just vote for Richmond, there needs to be a place for us to meet IN Richmond I appreciate you looking out for me EMS, but distance doesn't bother me, neither does the place. I just want to meet you guys, get the little bit of business done to make us official, and have a good time Lets try and keep the number of Yea/nae options to the 2 presented. I would rather eliminate a meeting spot in this thread, then have it turn into 30 posts with a dozen different options going nowhere

I vote Yea for skyline. I'd be coming... probably +1.
We usually somehow end up in charge of ice? But just I'd be willing to plan on bringing other things if necessary. BYOM and BYOB seems to work pretty well for these types of events?
How many will meet will affect where we can meet. I will ask around for businesses that will be receptive to having us but I need to know a number. 5-10 might be fine for a couple of smaller places I'm thinking about but that number may not turn the heads of bigger company managers and owners.
HOOTERS anyone? (Actually one of the places is nearby)

With those who voted, and Stu37d's email vote, I have 7 for Skyline. 3 for somewhere in Richmond. Looks like were heading to Skyline Drive
Stutterstan hit it on the head, this is our first meet, we can always do it somehwere else for the next one. Hopefully it will be easier and closer to other people who may not be able to make it to this one (though you should try).
We need to figure out whos going and bringing what. Things to consider. . .Hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, sides, chips, drinks, ice, condiments, grill (I think I can snag mine if we need it), chairs, table?, other? I'm thinking of asking TurboMonkey for assistance with this one. She seems to know whats going on out there, and says shes best at organizing people. So this is going to get done, no excuses
-I plan on bringing Hamburgers and Hotdogs(10-15 persons worth), and my grill if nessecary.
