Just installed EZ lift leveling kit

Hi, just installed the 2inch EZ-lift leveling kit from ExtremeTruckToys (website of the same name)

Total cost including shipping was $124. Two nice pieces of machined aluminum. Looks very similiar to the autosrpings steel kit, but I liked this one better since it was aluminum.

Instructions were very clear, and install took about 2 hours. I am not that mechanically inclined. It helped that I had access to a vehicle lift and air tools.

And the before and after pic is in my gallery.

I want to install one of the leveling kits bad. I'm just worried about causing a problem. My truck drives and rides soooo well right now I hate to tinker with anything. I love the leveled look though, and I need some bigger tires too!

You can Relax...I have the 2 Inch Autospring Kit and it didn't change the ride at all.....the springs are still at the same tension....you won't notice any difference. Not sure about those plastic things that people put in that require a spring compressor......I was turned off when i heard about $400 to install em, and am very happy having Steel spacers as opposed to those plastic things.

Its only been a day, but I can't say I noticed any difference in the ride....except that it feels taller! Bigger tires? Yes...soon.

Looks like the exact same on on ebay...just a few dollars cheaper..lucky you.

Oh...and before I installed the lift, I drove my truck into the garage and penciled on the wall where the headlights light was shining on the wall. Afterwards...no doubt..2 inches higher. And its easy to adjust them down now to where they were.

I just installed the daystar 2.5 on my 04 screw 4x4 and i'm not very satisfied with it.I like the look ok,although I think I should have got one of the 2 inch spacer's because the front end is almost to high.As for the ride i'm very unhappy with that it made the frontend very stiff.Sometime's when you hit a bump it jolt's you really hard and has a slight rattle on certain bump's.I don't know if a better-bigger set of shock's would help or not.

I installed a 2in "Autospring" kit on my 04 FX4 screw. I am very happy with the ride. It doesn't have that nose down feeling anymore...

I have the same feeling about my Protech leveling kit. I am happy with the stance, as long as NOTHING is in the bed. With 3 sandbags it sits about 1/4" lower in the rear, which isnt very good in my book. It also rides very stiff compared to stock. I wonder if all these people that claim the ride is "unchanged" are just not ready to accept the fact that this mod has some drawbacks. It isnt that bad....I still havent decided if it will stay on my truck or not. I have had it leveled for about 3 months now. I did a 30K service today and also noticed that the lower A-arms are rubbing on the spindle when the wheels are cranked each direction. I wish some more people would admit the problems they experience with the leveling kits, maybe then we could figure out a better solution.

If I take the leveling kit off, the whole truck is getting lowered (slammed) and put on 19s or 20s. One extreme to the other is always fun...I just hate the stock ride height so much I would lower the whole thing before I would leave it stock.

I've only had my kit installed for 2 week's,haven't noticed any rubbing anywhere.Since the daystar is a 2 piece kit i'm thinking of removing the top spacer which i think is a 1 inch spacer and see if that would take some of the stiffness out of the ride. That would still put the frontend 1.5 inch's higher than stock.I have 285-70-17 BFG's on 17x8 eagle wheel's ,it look's like I have enough room under there to try this.

I would be interested to know if there are truly some functional differences between the kits like Protech, Autospring and EZ-Lift. I had planned to do the EZ lift install but wanted to wait and see if there were any bad results from it. I can see where problems might come up, but was hoping one kit would stand out from the rest as being the safest.

Good luck, but I DID remove my top spacers, since the truck sat wayyyyy too high in front with them in. I dont think the ride got much better. Those 5/16" spacers dropped the truck almost 7/8." I think the spacers in with the springs are making our rides stiff...like I said, not sure if its bad enough to remove the kit.

I have the Protech 2.5 in my Lariat and yes the ride did change to a little stiffer ride. At work there is a 2ft trench accross the road that is patched and that I have to pass over whether coming or going, I've noticed that some days I have a thump when crusing over and some days smooth as silk??? My speed is pretty consistant being that I am travelling on a Military base (don't need my base driving privies taken away for speeding) so speed was ruled out but I did notice that if I have my shop tools and misc items stored in the back it's not as noticable as when it's empty.
So I'm trying to talk the Boss into the purchase of either a 4" or 6" lift but it's hard to push because after that, there are tire's, rims and all sorts of other goodies to make it right! so the price keeps going up! and of course she titled my truck That *.i.t.c.h is a "Gold Diggah"
