LOOK at what I spotted on Ebay

The Sport edition was a late 95-96 only model with color-matched bumpers and everything else blacked out. No chrome or "argent" trim pieces anywhere on the truck.
The side panels MUST have the slots in them for this item to work properly so the answer is YES, Broncos that came equipped with this option had different side panels in the cargo area.
The deep tinting of the side windows in the top was fairly standard by the mid eighties. Since the side windows and indeed the tops are interchangable from 1980 through 1996 (stoplamp and shoulder harness seat belt mounts not withstanding) if you want less tinting, you may be able to get them from an older truck.

Also, and if you think about this, it is not such a silly idea - why not tint the rear window on the outside of it? Just the rear one. I can have the guy tint it before it even gets installed so he can do a real good job and get the tint all the way down, under the rubber "squeegee" things on the tailgate.

The rear on mine is tinted (almost mirrored) and is on the inside. It looks like an after market job as it is over some decals and the defroster doesn't seem to work. I haven't concluded whether its due to the extra layer insulating the heat from the grid or an electrical problem with the grid. I know I have juice as far as the contacts on the grid though.

I have an after market tint in mine. It was a "dipped" tint not the tape type and my defroster works fine. A friend of mine got the kind you buy at kragens or something and rolled it on himself and his defroster doesn't work now either. Maybe it has something to do with scraping the elements when you put it on....I don't really know.
You should look into having it dipped though. It was A LOT more expensive but it is worth it. Mine was gauranteed to last the life of the vehicle.
