2005 F150 SC 4x4 Transmitiom Slack

After slowing my truck to under 20 mph in traffic, I give the truck gas to speed up and it slams into gear. It does this every time I step on the gas at that speed. Ford calls this slack in the transmition. It feels like a truck that has 200,000 miles on it and the transmition is about to go out. Very annoying! Ford says this is normal for two of their F150 transmitions. Does anyone else notice this. If this is normal, than FORD engineers need to go back to school!

Mine was doing that and the Field service engineer said it was caused by the 3 - 2 gear downshift, and they tried to pass it of as normal,

there is a Special Service message on it #18250

luckily for me I don't have to worry about it as they are buying my truck back

F150's have been doing this for years, nothing to worry about. Mine still does it at 70k miles, been doing it since new. No issues.

I do not know if it is the same deal, but I took mine in due to a similar problem when pulling up to a stop and then getting back on the throttle (like coming up to a traffic light just as it changed). The result was the dealer told me there was a TSB regarding reprograming the transmission pressures to fix it. Seems to have greatly reduced the slam feel.

I just noticed this today my 05 crew does the same thing. Wasn't surprised though, my 01 ranger SC did the same thing when OD was off.
