Exclamation Here Is The Dill

i have got a bit of a pickle. I have got a 1968 F-100 that somebody changed the motor from a inline 6 to a FE motor. After doing my homework i learn that this motor is a 352 that came in a 64 t-bird ( cant find what motors came in the t-birds that year). so i know what motor it is but now i would like to know as far as my options what can i do with this motor to beef it up some. It has a 4 speed behind it. This drive train is going under a 56 F-100.

What can i do and what parts will i need.

thanks for any help

I believe 390's were available in the Birds as well. Do a stroke check on it and verify the displacement. You can always build it up to a 390, if it's not. A 352 can be rodded out just like any other motor. This however will need to be accomplished with some high compression to do the trick.

I thought 352's had a higher compression anyway?

They had some hot 352s in those T-Birds, didn't they? Some had the 6-pack carb setup IIRC. Ya need to figure out what condition it's in, confirm the stroke and compression then plan from there. could be a good motor to build up.

The early Hi-Po 352's had higher compression but as far as I know the others were basically low compression passenger car engines.

Correct mmuenchow, the only engine available in the 1964 T-Bird was a 300 hp - 4 barrel 390.

The 352 was available in the Full sized fords in '64. Give us all the numbers off the tag.
