Horn Decibels?

I was curious if anyone knew what the stock decibel level of the horns were in the F-150's. I am wondering if I purchase an air horn that puts out 134db if I will be able to notice a difference? Thanks for any replies.

130 dB is at the threshold of pain, so I think those air horns would definitely do the job for you!

Haha 134 dB? That's deffinately loud. Let's just say an air raid siren is 130 dB, and a jet taking off is 140 dB. Treshold of pain is 140 dB. But decibels are tricky to measure, a 5 dB noise reduction is 30% quieter than the 5 dB above it.

You'll notice damage from the air raid siren after 3 minutes of hearing it.

What brand of horns? I have a pair of Grover Trucktones, and I couldnt ask for anything more. The stock horn on the Superduty is kind of wimpy, so I went for a little more LOL. The Grover's give a real 'big rig' sound

I bought the horns on Ebay from Gabbert Equipment Co. The guy I dealt with was real good, he helped me out a lot. You can buy from them direct too, I believe. The compressor, hardware, valves and tank I got from separate local sources. Gabbert can hook you up w/ a compressor and tank for a certain amount of money, and my buddy got the whole setup from them, and it works like a champ.
