2 oil questions

Hi.

firstly what oil do you guys recommend to run in a practicaly stock 360FE... weight wise... is 10w-40 ok ?

second, where should your oil pressure guage on the dash sit while driving, after a bit of a run mine can be right up near the high mark, but normally its about in the middle..

My reccomendation is Mystik 15-40 in the summer, and 10-30 in the winter. 10-40 will work but it tends to break down and lose vicosity as the difference in weight is so great. Whatever you do, dont run Synthiec. It has been proven by UOA's to actaully cause greater wear then dino oil.

I agree with the Mystik recommendation, but he's across the ocean in UK. They (mystik) have distribution problems in this country, let alone over there. If you can find it, great, but...

You might ask in the oil & lube forum; I'm not up on my AECA rated oils.

Oh yeah, I didnt see that you lived in the UK. Can you afford to drive a 360FE while paying $10 a gallon over there? Any disesl rated dino will be great for the FE.

Where did you see that Synthetic oil causes more wear?

"Proven" to cause greater wear than dino oil? Where did you read that?

You'd have to keep up with the oil & lube forum. There's a user named Flash over there that I hear works at a oil analysis place. That was his findings.

NO PROOF OF EITHER! Of course...I could have missed that "ONE" thread where all the proof is/was...
