emissions "air pump" in 1979 351M

Well the belt that drives the emissions air pump burned up today after some wet n wild wheeling yesterday. I got a new belt and got under the truck to install it. However it seems i cannot get it onto the crankshaft pulley because both the power steering and alternator belts are in the way. Do i have to remove both those belts in order to put it on? Right now i just cut off the old belt, will the truck run ok? other than not being as "emissions friendly" for a little while? I didnt want to spend the time removing all the belts tonight. Anyways is there anything to look out for? Any tricks for getting the belt on?

Thanks in advance...

Nick

Does the truck have a cat converter? If not leave it off.

Yes you have to remove the other belts to install it. You can leave the belt off for a little bit. The biggest problem with leaving them off is that a lot of times, they tend to lock up from moisture if not used.
